IMPACT OF TRAUMA
The impact of trauma on life can be profound and far-reaching, affecting an individual's emotional, psychological, and even physical well-being. Trauma can alter the way a person perceives the world, how much belief they have in themselves and consequently how capable they feel, this often creates imposter syndrome, leading individuals to not realise their full potential and when they do try to excel in any particular area of their life, these people often experience heightened levels of anxiety, depression, or post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
These emotional responses can interfere with daily functioning, only reinforcing the inner narrative that they aren't 'worthy' consequently making it difficult to maintain relationships, perform at work, or engage in social activities.
Trauma can also manifest physically, resulting in symptoms such as chronic pain, fatigue, or sleep disturbances. The ripple effects of trauma can extend into various aspects of life, influencing self-esteem, trust in others, and the ability to feel safe and secure. However, with appropriate support and therapeutic intervention, individuals can work towards healing, developing resilience, and finding ways to integrate their experiences into a narrative that fosters growth and empowerment.
